Corrupt leaders!!??!!!?

Why is it that nobody is ever fit to lead a country nowadays because whenever some stupid **** who mucked up gets chucked out another one with false promises who people actually believe can make a change :O (False promises) gets elected in while plenty of rational people who are perfectly capable of doin the best for everyone don't even have a chance because they don't go around boasting about how great the country is going to be when they are running it.
