What could have caused this?

well i was modding my ps2 and be a **** like i usually am i forgot 2 take the power out, i picked up the console with no casing on it and had a huge burning vibrating sensation in my hand, im guessing i got zapped by 240v, im not worried tbh but what would have actually given me the shock on the console so i can avoid it, (obviously ill unplug it nxt time lol) ?
